Alpha Agent

Alpha Agent: the AI operating system that takes over managing AI

Evgeny Orlov · Symbiosis Lab · October 2026

Alpha Agent is an AI operating system: one agent that manages all the others. You give the task in plain words, and he picks the method and the tools, keeps the skills compatible, checks the result and updates as a whole. Choosing, testing, cognitive overload and the race for versions stay on his side, and you use AI at full strength.

Five chores Alpha takes off your hands

These are usually what eats more time than the work with AI itself.

  • Choice. Alpha decides which method fits the task. Inside are over 500 skills, apps and connectors, among them 119 authored methods by Evgeny Orlov and Symbiosis Lab, from funnel analysis and sales to engineering simulation.
  • Testing. Every skill enters the library only after a hand review: how it gets along with the others, how it works on real tasks, what happens to it after an update.
  • Compatibility. Skills do not argue with each other or override each other: the library was assembled and tested as a whole.
  • The race for versions. Alpha updates as a whole, over the previous version, and keeps your data and changes. There is no need to follow every release of models and plugins.
  • Cognitive overload. One window and a task said in plain language instead of a dozen interfaces and settings.

Each chore looks small on its own. Together they are the tuning that eats evenings and weekends.

Example: a report on a conversion drop from one request

Say you need to understand why the conversion of your site dropped. You tell Alpha so in plain words and attach the analytics export. He takes the funnel analysis method, checks seasonality and holidays, compares the segments and saves a report as a file: findings, causes and the confidence in each finding. You read the report and decide.

Along the way you picked no model, hunted for no analytics plugin, checked no compatibility and rewrote no prompts after an update. The operating system took care of all of it.

An AI operating system does for AI what Windows does for memory

A computer's operating system manages memory, processes and devices so that programs and people do not have to think about them. An iPhone owner does not tune the screen's frame rate or the capture format: the engineers decided it for them, and everything just works.

An AI operating system sits between you and the whole variety of skills, apps, connectors and models. It has four jobs:

  • Distribute the work: which skill and which tool takes the task.
  • Manage the resources: models, data, memory and access are set up once, in one place.
  • Keep things compatible: the new does not break the old.
  • Update as a whole: one new version instead of a dozen separate updates.

That is the difference from an ordinary agent: an agent does a task, while an operating system manages all the workers at once.

Alpha means the leader: one agent leads the others

Alpha is the leader of the pack. He leads the others, finds the way and runs the work. Alpha Agent is built the same way: you give the task to one agent, he distributes it among skills and tools, assembles the result and answers for it. That is why we call it a new class: Alpha is the managing layer over the workers.

Saddle and harness: how people tame AI today

The usual path goes like this. You install an agent, then spend weeks matching plugins, skills and prompts to it, tying it all together with scripts and spreadsheets. You end up with a team of horses: one pulls the texts, another the analytics, a third the reports, and you sit on the box making sure none of them bolts. A new model version comes out, and the harness has to be refitted again.

The market answers overload with even more agents: an agent for mail, an agent for spreadsheets, a research agent, and on top a super-agent that "can do everything". Each new agent adds one more choice, one more set of settings and one more place where something can break. The overload just moves one floor up. While some are still refitting the harness, our users are already riding.

Why choice wears people out: 30% of purchases against 3%

Psychologists described this effect long ago. In the classic study by Sheena Iyengar and Mark Lepper (2000), shoppers at a table with six jams bought ten times more often than at a table with twenty-four: 30% of those who stopped against 3%.

A later meta-analysis by Alexander Chernev and colleagues (2015, 99 observations) showed when it happens: choice overload is strongest when the options are complex, hard to compare and the person has no ready criteria. That is an almost word-for-word description of the AI tools market today.

«While others try to put a saddle on artificial intelligence and harness it to a team, our users simply ride. Alpha takes on everything that keeps you from using AI at full strength and leaves people their own tasks.»

The first and last agent: after that, only new versions

When a new iPhone comes out or yours gets tired, you do not look for another phone, you just upgrade. We are building Alpha Agent the same way: he should be the first and last agent you need. That is what we already hear from partners, friends and people who use Alpha Agent and the Symbiosis Lab ecosystem.

Alpha works on a Windows computer (a Mac version will come later) and in the cloud, in a browser and on the phone. Both versions are getting ready to open; follow the Alpha Agent page.

In short

The layer between a person and all the skills, tools and models of AI. It picks them for the task, keeps them compatible, checks the result and updates as a whole. Alpha Agent is built exactly this way.
No. You set the task in plain words, and Alpha picks the method and the tools himself. The settings everyone needs are already made.
New capabilities reach Alpha after a review, with a new version. The update installs over the previous one and keeps your data and changes.
