A new class of agent

Why Alpha, and why an operating system.

01

Alpha means the leader

Alpha is an agent over agents, like the leader of a pack: he leads everyone, finds the way and runs the work. You give the task to one Alpha, and he picks the skills and tools for it himself.

02

An operating system, like an iPhone

On an iPhone everything is already there and works great. You don't lower the screen's frame rate to save battery or switch the camera to RAW or to 60 frames per second instead of 30. Most likely you don't even know these settings exist: the engineers thought it all through for you. Alpha is built the same way.

03

The first and last agent

When a new iPhone comes out or yours gets tired, you don't look for another phone, you just upgrade. Same with Alpha: you don't need another agent, just the new version.

That is what we already hear from partners, friends and people who use Alpha Agent and the Symbiosis Lab ecosystem.

Not just an agent

An agent usually arrives like a bike in a garage: a great one, but in pieces.

You install the agent and it begins: hours of setup, then hunting for plugins, skills and features. Some work, some don't, some break the others. Some people enjoy that garage. We chose the Apple philosophy: switch it on, and it works. Alpha Agent arrives as a whole ecosystem: skills, apps and connectors already assembled and tested together.

The usual wayParts in boxes, some are missing, the manual is somewhere on a forum.
The Alpha Agent wayAssembled, tested and ready to ride on day one.
«A typical AI agent is like a great bike delivered in pieces: the parts are in the garage, some are missing, and the assembly is on you. Some people enjoy that. We chose the Apple way: switch it on, and it works.»
Evgeny Orlov, founder of Symbiosis Lab
Why “everything at once” fails

A hundred random skills don't make an agent smarter.

You can load an agent with everything you can find and hope it sorts things out. Here is what actually happens.

  1. 01
    Skills argue with each other

Two skills for the same job give different instructions, and the agent picks one at random.

  2. 02
The agent picks the wrong skill

Similar names and vague descriptions: the neighbouring method fires instead of the right one.

  3. 03
A skill was written for someone else's setup

It relies on services you don't have and quietly breaks halfway through the task.

  4. 04
    Clutter eats the model's attention

Every skill adds text to the agent's working memory: answers get slower, more expensive and less focused.

  5. 05
    Updates break the neighbours

One skill gets updated, another stops working, and nobody checked.

The result is familiar: everything is installed, and nothing works properly.

Hand review, like Apple

Every skill gets into Alpha only after review.

Compatibility

We check that a skill gets along with the others and doesn't override them.

Quality of work

We run the skill on real tasks instead of trusting its description.

Updates

Every update is reviewed before it reaches you.

Today the library is fully authored: methods by Evgeny Orlov and Symbiosis Lab.

Two versions

On your computer or in the cloud.

Alpha works in two environments. What he can do depends on what he can reach.

On your computer

Windows
  • Works with the files and folders on your computer
  • Runs tools on your computer: file search, audio and video, a browser for sites and forms, code
  • Keeps history, memory and settings in your profile on your computer
  • Saves reports, spreadsheets, decks and code as files on your side
  • Runs scheduled tasks while your computer is on
  • Updates over the previous version and keeps your changes

In the cloud

browser and phone
  • Opens in a browser and on your phone, nothing to install
  • Available even when your computer is off

Limits of the environment

  • Can't see the files and programs on your computer, works only with what you upload or connect
  • Can't run programs or tools on your computer
  • Skills that need your computer are not available in the cloud

Both versions are getting ready to open.

Capabilities

What Alpha does for you.

Tasks in plain words

Say what you need. Alpha breaks the task down and carries it out with the tools at hand.

Results as files

Reports, spreadsheets, decks and code are saved as files you can open and check.

Your memory stays yours

The agent keeps history and memory in your profile. An external knowledge base can be connected separately.

Checking what matters

Ask for sources and a check: review skills catch mistakes and flag uncertainty.

Your messengers and services

Telegram, Discord, email, calendar and CRM connect with your own accounts.

Scheduled tasks

Alpha runs recurring tasks on his own while he is running.
